My Hosting Service
A dedicated Web server is one that is exclusively devoted to my clients only. Most Websites today reside on a "shared" server, one that often contains many different Websites competing for server resources.
It's a lot like a public bus versus a private bus—either one may take you to your destination, but my private bus is faster, safer, more reliable, and runs on renewable energy.
There are four distinct advantages in moving to my dedicated servers:
• Stability. I monitor and control server traffic, resulting in higher performance and speed levels for both your website and email.
• Security. There is less chance that your website and email will be subject to nefarious attack or disruption.
• Carbon Neutral. My dedicated servers and computers are carbon neutral, meaning your website is too!
• Cost. There is no extra charge to you for this service. It's part of my continuing effort to provide the best quality Web solutions for my clients.
Once your Website has been created, it's time to upload it to the world. But how do you choose a good hosting service? If you don't think it's an ocean out there, take a few moments and surf around. The number of hosting plans is mindboggling, and many provide cheap incentives to attract business, but then throw your Website in with many others on a shared server, often resulting in unreliable service.
That's why I only work on Websites which I host on my own carbon neutral dedicated servers. My service features a money-back guarantee and has all the professional Web tools I need to create your site quickly and cost effectively, saving you time and money. My hosting rates are competitive and best of all, your Website is managed by the same person who created it. I care about your business, and know how important it is to keep your site up and running. Whenever you need any changes, experience any problems, or have any questions, you only need contact one person—me.
I offer hosting strictly as a convenience to my Web clients—I'm not in the Web hosting service per se. My goal is to create your Website, and then keep it available 24/7 for your visitors. That means offering you everything in a single location—Website creation and a reliable hosting service.
If you have detailed documents you want to offer online (eg: technical bulletins, instructions, special papers or articles), consider offering them through your Website as PDFs. Acrobat Reader (used for reading PDFs) is commonly packaged today with most browsers, and many Web users are comfortable with downloading a larger document in this universal readable format. If you're unable to convert your docs to PDF, send them to me and after conversion I'll return them.
Part of my service is keeping you informed about important changes to the Wide World Web that may affect your site. The Web is in constant flux and staying abreast of changes is difficult. Thus, I offer periodic Web design news and advice in my online weblog, as well as private client-only pages to help you get the most from your Web service.
My hosting plans start as low as $20 per month, payable in advance per annum ($240/yr), and include personalized email (eg: yourname@yourbusiness) for you and your employees, and a host of statistical tools and other features to keep your site running smoothly. If you have a present hosting service, I'll help you transfer to my service—it's usually quite easy. Domain name registration is also available for $20 per annum. Please read my Acceptable Use Policy before signing up for my hosting service.
